Guitar Center Campaign

I’m super excited to say that my band and I launched a HUGE campaign with Guitar Center. How did this happen? Well, it’s kind of a funny story.

Almost two weeks ago, I played a gig on Victoria Pike's rooftop. We got to play alongside some lovely musicians, (ended up accidentally breaking my Fender in the process but LULZ guess that's the ~rockstar~ lifestyle). I'm so happy Lavar Isaac took photos of the whole thing, cause it was quite the memorable night. I shared some Lavar’s awesome snaps on my social media, and after almost week of back and forth with the good folks from Guitar Center, this came out today.

So if I can be completely honest, keep on playing rooftops in Brooklyn and breaking guitars (but not too often), take photos, dance your pretty hearts out with the ones you love, believe in yourself a hell of a lot, and hey, something cool could come out of it. Thank you to Guitar Center, especially the queen of my heart, Marilyn Moser, for this awesome opportunity. However, the biggest thank you goes to my band- Misia Vessio, Felix Jarrar, Alex Talarico and Gabriel Paiano for always having my back and supporting me endlessly (honestly, don't they look so freaking cool!?!?)

Btw, you guys can help too! PLEASE make sure to like the original post on GC’s Facebook page/comment/share! If this does well, that’ll be more good news for the band. Thanks everyone. <3

We love you, Japan

My band and I played our final show last night in Kobe at the Kansai Music Conference. It was a HUGE success! It was incredible just to watch complete and random strangers get up and dance to the music I wrote in my bedroom. The feeling was totally indescribable. A huge part of me doesn't want to leave Japan...everything here just feels so much better. I'm going to miss this country every single day. However, I know that this is only the beginning of what is about to be an incredible journey. Thank you to my band for following my every footstep. I wouldn't have been able do any of this without you. You're my rocks and I'm so happy to have spent these last ten days with you. Now, I'm waiting for my flight from Hong Kong to take off (gotta love this layovers) and I can't wait to see my friends and family back in the states. Thanks to everyone who supported me, I will see you soon!

Japanese Radio Debut

🎀 This week has certainly been the week of really good news. I'll start with the biggest and BEST thing! Tomorrow, "Glamour Girl," will be making it's debut on Asian radio. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the song's first birthday then having it play in countries I haven't even been to (yet!!). I also want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past year. For this who have come out to every show, who have shared my music or any other crazy thing I needed support for, and especially those who never doubted me, thank you. Here's to another year of being ~glamorous~ 🎀

Weekly Round Up: Help Fund the Petra Jarrar Band's tour in Japan

Hey, what's up Glamour Babes? My band and I going to be doing a weekly round up/thank you to everyone who has donated to our Indiegogo campaign.

It's been almost a week since we launched our campaign, and we have raised $237. With this money, we'd be able to buy four of our train tickets to get to and from our shows throughout Japan. THAT in itself is an amazing feat. With every donation, you'll be able to make our dream to go to Japan a reality. So please, keep donating and sharing! Thank you for the amazing support you've shown us this past week. Love you all! <3‪#‎petrabandtakesjapan‬

The Petra Jarrar Band's IndieGoGo Campaign Launches TODAY!

A few weeks ago, my band and I ended up hitting some major roadblocks in funding our tour. As a result, we are *officially* launching a campaign on IndieGoGo today to raise money- and we are asking everyone we know to help us!

Our band is looking to raise $10,000. I can admit, this figure is astronomical. However, I have always been determined to take on what seems most impossible and make it a reality. This tour has been a whirlwind already, and it has not even begun yet. This time last year, I spent my nights wandering in and out of dive bars throughout the city just hoping for someone to hear me, but I had very little luck. To think that now, I have a wonderfully talented band (shout out to Alaska, Matt, Aron and Justin) and we are going to be playing at a music festival in Osaka, and various art houses and stages throughout Japan. It is mind boggling to think about how much my work has evolved since last summer - however, in order to continue evolving my work and sharing it with a wider audience, I need your help.

What makes this tour even more special is that we are all independent musicians- none of us are backed by a label or investors. The entire tour has been put together entirely by us, and this is something we are completely proud of. Yet, when it comes to funding, we are left in a bit of a difficult situation, as the world isn't kind to ambitious and broke college students. The reason any of us took music lessons and went to conservatories in the first place was in hopes of getting to perform all over the world. We're in the home stretch of reaching this goal, but we need some support from you all to help get us to the finish line. We are all independent musicians that are not backed by a label. We organize all of our own performances and finance them. Any and all support is appreciated.

Please take a moment to visit our IndieGoGo campaign page. There, you will find a video with information about the tour and how to donate. The band and I have also put together some cute little perk packages for those who donate, so please make sure to check those out, too!

Even if you cannot donate, there is a TON of power in just SHARING the campaign. Please feel free to share this campaign on your social media (there's a bunch of lil' buttons on our campaign page where you can easily share information!) with friends and family. Thank you for taking the time to read this all, and please PLEASE help make #petrabandtakesjapan a reality.
